Mirrors of Iran 2018 Conference


The Association of Iranica in Australasia, in partnership with the State Library of NSW and sponsored by IWVAC-Australia presents a unique opportunity to experience the richness of Iranian cultural heritage.

This conference brings together a team of international and national scholars and literary figures to take participants through a unique and exhilarating journey of Iranian literature – from classical, mystical and Sufi traditions to contemporary, poetry, novel and film.

Two key features of the program will be live performances of Persian classical music performed with authentic instruments and a live demonstration of Persian calligraphy with music accompaniment.

Sholeh Wolpé: Keynote international visiting Scholar, UCLA, USA; Dr Milád Miláni, UWS; Shokoofeh Ázar, Author and nominee for Stella Prize; Elhám Náeej and Mazda Morádabbasi, PhD candidates, UNSW; Musicians: Anna McDonald (Kamáncheh); Hámed Sádeghi (Tár); Bahman Kermány (Dotár); Calligrapher, Rezá Taqipoor.
